Over the past few months, the professional esports scene for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been seen gaining more and more attention. The battle royale video game has already made its mark with a few tournaments to its name in 2017. However, it seems 2018 will be packed with more exciting tournaments as one of the largest esports organization in the world has announced its expansion to PUBG.
StarLadder and ImbaTV have successfully held over 14 tournaments in 2016 and 2017, with LAN-finals spread out across the globe. Now, the two are looking towards expanding to PUBG and hence the two have joined hands yet again to bring you the very first “StarSeries i-League PUBG” tournament. The tournament will kick off on March 1 with it finally coming to close on March 4 in the Kiev Cybersports Arena, Ukraine. The total prize money for the StarSeries i-League PUBG tournament is set at $100,000.
According to the official announcement, a total of 16 teams will be taking part in the tournament. All of the teams are going to be directly invited. Hence, there are not going to any qualifiers. Only the strongest PUBG teams in the world are going to taking part in the upcoming StarSeries i-League PUBG.

The format for the tournament is set at "Squad" only which means each of the competing teams is going to be bringing in a team of a total of four players each.
